Abstract
This study was conducted to determine effects of various planting patterns on forage yield and some characters of corn and bean grown under intercropping as a second crop at Tokat - Kazova ecological conditions in 1992 and 1993. Planting patterns significantly influenced maize leaf ratio, stem ratio, and forage yield. The highest forage corn yield was obtained from pure stand maize and 1 corn + 2 bean alternate rows. Intercropping has significantly influenced leaf ratio, green pod yield and forage yield of bean. The highest forage bean yield was obtained from pure stand bean however, the lowest yield was obtained from 2 corn + 1 bean alternate rows.
