A Research on the Stages of Flower Development in Hazelnut II. The Relationships Between the Time of Flower Development Stages and the Development of Flower Organs

Abstract
This research is done on the hazelnut cultivars, which are Tombul, Palaz, Sivri, Çakildak, Kalinkara, Yerlifindik and Hanimfindigi, in Samsun between the years 1991 and 1993. On the test cultivars, male and female flower development stages are observed and the seizes of male and female flower organs are measured. As a result of this research, that male flower bud initiation occurs in may and june, and female flower bud initiation occurs in july and august according to the cultivar and year is observed. The organ primordia and growth of catkins on the male and female flower have not occured since october till the beginning of the anthesis.
