Abstract

In this study, the possibilities of the utilization of waste water of Gemlik Fertilizer Inc. in agriculture was investigated. With this aim, three-years field trials were carried out at the Experimental Farm of Agricultural Faculty, Uludag University. A considerable increase in the electrical conductivity of the soils irrigated with waste water was observed while ph of these soils was decreased. Although relatively lower tomatoe yields were obtained from the plots irrigated with only waste water, the yields obtained from the plots irrigated with normal irrigation water mixed with waste water at different rates were higher than those of the plots irrigated with normal irrigation water. But the effect of waste water on the yield of maize was not significant.
