Abstract
This research was conducted to determine flower bud stage differention and development of pomegranate cv. Hicaznar grown at Antalya Citrus Research Institute, Serik-Kayaburnu Station and in the Laboratories of Horticulture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Akdeniz University, Antalya. The flower buds were collected in two periods: before and after bursting. All the collected samples were fixed in the fixing solution. A series of thin sections were taken to make preparates in order to evaluate the bud differentiation stages and further developments after the samples were embedded in paraffin. The first morphological flower bud differentiation was determined on February 20, 1992. The flower bud differentiation and development processes continued about two months. The flower bud development of Hicaznar, from the beginning of the differention to full biooming were evaluated into 15 stages, successively.
