Using of Computer in Preparing Forest Management Plans

Abstract

In forest management planning, the office work requires a long time and existing plans could not be revisioned in time. For instance the plans for a 7 million ha area have not been revisioned in Turkey. A computer program to automatic the office work and shorten the required time has been developed. With this program the office work which normally requires 7 mouths can be copleted in a month. The program was written in GW-BASIC and it works in an IBM compatible PCs.
