A Study on the Flesh Productivity and Standard Method for Collecting of Helix lucorum Linnaeus, 1758

Abstract
In this study that has been verified at the Eğirdir environs, Helix lucorum which is one of the edible terrestrial snail species in Turkey, and a standard method of collecting snail samples for consumption were investigated. In the area of study, it was observed that individuals begin to reproduce at the second week of February and that they are spawninig during March-May when the climate is mild. It was also determined that the minimum shell length of individuals is 22 mm, and that shell diameter is 31 mm, and that weight is 10 g which were measured during reproducing period. Moreover, the individuals possessing values above these measurements were suitable for collecting in terms of flesh productivity.
