Abstract
On the basis of morphological characters such as the shape of the mouth, suborbital spines, lamina circularis subdorsal scales, pigmentation and fin ray formulas four new species ( kellei, fahireae, splendens and puncticulata) and one subspecies ( C. vardarensis kurui) of genus Cobitis from Turkey are described.
