Abstract
Although, the biology of L.m. cinerascens which is named as madrap or rice grasshopper is known in our country, it's diapause has not been investigated much detailed. It was reported by researches that this species gives two generations in a year and overwintered as hibernating eggs in the south-east Anatolia. Between the years of 1988 and 1990, field studies were undertaken at Menemen-Izmir plain and it was concluded that this species has a facultative adult diapause, overwintering as hibernating adults in the population of our region. Therefore, it is possible to see and collect them at every mounth of year in favorable physical conditions. Also, we suggest that they produce more than two generations in a year in the population of our region.
