Abstract
In this study 10 male Holstein and 10 male Brown Swiss cattle, a total of 20 animals, were used as research material at 11-12 months of age. They were fed in pasture conditions at the Atatürk University Agricultural College Farm, where the altitude is high (2000 m) and climate conditions are cold. Blood was taken from the jugular vein, and sera were collected. The analysis of glucose (GLU), cholesterol (CHOL), total bilirubin (TBIL), direct bilirubin (DBIL), blood urine nitrojen (BUN), creatinine (CRE), uric acid (UA), total protein (TP), albumin (ALB), globulin (GLB), high density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C) and triglyceride (TG) in blood sera were measured on an autoanalyzer (Merck Mega) using commercial kits (Diasis Diagnostic System). There were no significant differences among biochemical parameter levels in the breeds (P > 0.05).
