Abstract
The aim of this investigation was to examine the industrial fluorosis caused by the coal burning power station in Muğla-Yatağan. Blood and urine samples of sheep, and water, plant and soil samples from around the power station were collected four times throughout the year to cover all four seasons. Fluoride ion concentrations in the water, urine, plant and soil samples were detected potentiometrically using an ion selective electrode. Serum Alkaline phosphatase (ALP-EC 3.1.3.1), Alanine aminotransferase (ALT-EC 2.6.1.2), Aspartate aminotransferase (AST-EC 2.6.1.1) and Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH-EC 1.1.1.27) enzyme activities were analysed spectrophotometrically using Sigma commercial kits. Significantly higher fluoride ion concentration levels (p
