An Investigation on the Reproduction of the Chub (Leuciscus cephalus (Normann, 1840) from Çıldır Lake-Turkey
Abstract
An investigation was made on the gonadosomatic index (GSI) and egg diameter of the specimens of Leuciscus cephalus caught from Çıldır Lake in the period of 1991 - 1993. GSI values varied between 0.81 and 12.96. The most intensive period for the reproduction was recorded in May-October, when water temperatures were 9.4, 10.4 respectively.
