Abstract
In this study, transferrin polymorphism was investigated in Anatolian Merino and native Akkaraman sheep breeds. The seperation of transferrin types were carried out using the horizontal starch gel electrophoresis. Five transferrin alleles A, B, C, D and E were identified in both breeds. Heterozygosity (h) in Anatolian Merino and native Akkaraman breeds was 0.7506±0.0070 and 0.7361±0.0067 respectively.
