Determination of Coliform and Fecal Coliform in the Surface Waters of the Kızılırmak River-Basin

Abstract
Coliform and fecal coliform levels in total of 100 water samples obtained between February and July 1995 from the Kızılırmak river were detected by the MPN technique. The numbers of coliform and fecal coliform levels of the water samples were found 230-11000 MPN/100 ml and 40-11000 MPN/100 ml respectively. As a results, water quality has involved in 3rd class of Water Pollution Control Director of Environmental Coinsillorship and after the waters is treated by suitable purification, it will be used as industrial water.
