Abstract

I had the privilege in 1979 to take As{\i}m Barut to the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, the holy city where the three great monotheistic faiths commune with God. I would like to feel that this provided a moment of spiritual transcendence for him, who has provided so many physicists with the benefit of his own insight.
