Abstract
Nickel oxide thin films have been prepared by a simple and inexpensive spray pyrolysis technique and have been studied for their structural, optical and electrical properties. The films consist of NiO (cubic) phase. The direct band gap energy is estimated to be 3.4 eV. Room temperature electrical resistivity is of the order of 10^6 \,\Omega-cm.
