Fluctuations in Elastomeric Polymer Networks

Abstract

The fluctuations of chain dimensions in an elastomeric network are significant. In the present paper, the James--Guth model of a network is used to show that fluctuations of the vector joining two junctions converge to a constant value when the shortest topological path joining the two junctions contains 4 to 8 chains, depending on the structure of the network.
