Abstract

On the basis of available data on white dwarfs (WDs) in open clusters (OC) and on masses of field WDs, the initial-final mass relation has been constructed. We have analyzed the turn-off mass values of OCs and cooling times of WDs. Special attention was paid to the problems of asymptotic values of initial-final mass relation. We obtained the number-mass distribution of WDs in the limits of observed and theoretical uncertainties. It shows good agreement with the observed number-mass distributions published.
