Abstract
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA was isolated from the sera of 15 anti-HCV positive patients. cDNAs were synthesized by reverse transcription and amplified by two round nested polymerase chain reaction (PCR). HCV infection was confirmed by the detection of 256 base pairs long DNA fragments on the 2% agarose gels in the electrophoresis of PCR products with the positive and negative controls. 10 of 15 infection were confirmed by this molecular technique.
