Vitamin E Levels in Thyroid Diseases

Abstract
In thyroid diseases, the metabolic rate varies due to the physiologic effect of thyroid hormones. An increased rate of metabolism may cause the production of free radicals and decrease the free radical scavengers. We measured thyroid hormones by radiioimmunoassay and vitamin E levels by a fluorometric method in euthyroid, hypothyroid and hyperthyroid patients.
