Turkish Journal of Mathematics

Peer Review

This journal operates a single blind review process to maintain confidentiality and impartiality.

Each submitted manuscript first undergoes an initial editorial review to evaluate its compliance with the journal’s author guidelines (Information for Authors), language quality, scientific contribution, and originality. Following an initial editorial screening, the Editor-in-Chief may decide to reject a manuscript without external peer review for reasons including, but not limited to:

  • Non-compliance with submission guidelines
  • Being outside the journal’s scope
  • Insufficient priority for the journal at that time
  • Limited availability of qualified reviewers or editorial resources
  • An unusually high number of submissions in the same period or topic area

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to Manuscript Editors with subject expertise.

The following steps outline our peer review process:

  1. Preliminary Evaluation: Upon submission, the manuscript editor checks the scientific quality and relevance of the manuscript. If the manuscript does not meet the required standards, the manuscript editor will recommend rejection to the Editor-in-Chief, who will communicate the decision to the authors.
  2. Reviewer Invitation: If the manuscript passes the preliminary evaluation, the manuscript editor will invite at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise to evaluate the manuscript. Reviewers are selected based on their qualifications and experience in the subject area.
  3. Reviewer Responsibilities: Reviewers are expected to provide constructive and ethical feedback, focusing on the manuscript's scientific rigor, originality, and clarity. Reviewers can recommend:
    • Minor revisions
    • Major revisions
    • Acceptance without revision
    • Rejection
  4. Revision Process: Based on the reviewers' reports, the manuscript editor will decide whether to request minor or major revisions, accept the manuscript without revision, or reject it. If revisions are needed, the manuscript is sent back to the authors, who must address the reviewers' comments and detail the changes made, citing line numbers and exact modifications. Revisions that do not meet these requirements will be returned to authors for further corrections.
  5. Final Decision: After the authors resubmit the revised manuscript, the manuscript editor evaluates the changes. If necessary, the revised manuscript may be sent back to the reviewers for further evaluation. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for making the final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection of the manuscript, based on the manuscript editor's recommendations and reviewers' feedback.
  6. Galley Proofs: Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, the authors will receive galley proofs for final corrections. Authors are not permitted to make substantial changes at this stage.
