Abstract

A new alkaloid has been isolated from Isatis costata C.A.Mey. and assigned structure 1 on the basis of spectroscopic data including 1D and 2D NMR techniques. Methyl 2-acetoamidobenzoate (2), \beta-sitosterol (3), and ursolic acid (4) were also isolated for the first time from this species.
