Extraction of Outstanding Objects in Color Images
This paper presents a novel fuzzy-logic-based scheme that extracts in a color image the objects outstanding to human eyes. The scheme first establishes image-adaptive fuzzy sets, then segments the image into coarse fuzzy regions, finally chooses the visually significant regions. The scheme reflects human vision, and it can be used not only to automatically extract the retrieval key of an image, but also in robot vision and region-adaptive image compression.
