Abstract
In this paper a dual polarized aperture-coupled reflectarray unit cell is designed, fabricated, and tested. The element is based on patches aperture-coupled to delay lines. This unit cell has the capability of switching the beam direction in two orthogonal polarizations using a PIN diode or MEMS switch by changing the length of the transmission line coupled to the patch. The proposed structure is used in the design of an X-band reflectarray antenna in two states having angles off broadside of 0$^{\circ}$ and 10$^{\circ}$.
