Topological Effects on the Activity of Compounds Acting As Alarm Pheromones of Pogonomyrmex badius

Abstract

Hosoya indices, which are highly potent topological indices, are used to interrelate the activity ratings of the alarm releasing effect of various ketones on Pogonomyrmex badius with the molecular structures. It been found that within the same set of compounds, Hosoya indices accurately estimate the trends of activity ratings. and that differences in activity between similar compounds are dictated by partial Hosoya indices H_3 and H_4.
