The Possibilities of Using Hazelnut Shells on Pleurotus sajor-caju (Fr.) Singer Production
Hazelnut is economicly grown horticultural crops in Black Sea region and its shells are used as combustibles in the area. This research is conducted to determine the possibilities of using hazelnut shells for P. sajor-caju (Fr.) Singer production. As the result of review in which 7 different media including hazelnut shells were examined. The highest biological yield rate as 60.2 % obtained in the medium containing hazelnut shell + sawdust + wheatbran (1:2:1). The fastest fruit body growing period as 36 days from inoculation was also determined in the media mentioned above.
