The Effect of Water Current on Omega-3 Fatty Acids of Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) Fillets


Abstract: In this study, the effects of water current on omega-3 (n-3) fatty acids of trout ( Oncorhynchus mykiss) were investigated. Compared with group B the fish of group A showed a higher content of the individual n-3 fatty acids C18:3 n-3, C18:4 n-3, C20:4 n-3, C20:5 n-3 (p<0.05) and a lower content of C22:6 n-3 which was, however, compensated as a result of the total share of n-3 fatty acids.
