Temperature and Pressure Dependent Switching in Coevaporated Thin Films

Abstract: The effects of temperature and air pressure on the voltage-current characteristics for electroformed thin film structures of Ag-GeO_2/BaO-Ag are investigated. An increase in pressure or decrease in temperature show similar electrical behaviour in the electroformed samples. The results can be explained by a filamentary model of electrical conduction in the formed samples as suggested by Dearneley, Morgan and Stoneham.
